City Tour, 7 June 2021

A tour through the historic part of Zurich and guided by Peter Waldner will take place on 7 June, 15:00-17:00. The city tour will start at the "Groups Meeting Point" inside the main train station and end at the Landesmuseum, where the welcome reception will take place. The tour is free of charge.

Tour on WSL Campus, 9 June 2021

A tour guided by several WSL colleagues on WSL campus and through its research facilities will take place on 9 June, 14:00-17:00. Several colleagues will provide an insight in their current projects running in research facilities such as the Model Ecosystem Facility MODOEK, the Training and Demonstration Facility for Long-Term Forest Monitoring, the Dendro Lab, the Pedothek, Demonstration of Terrestrial Laser Scanning by the Swiss NFI, and others.

Post Conference Excursion Valais, 11-12 June 2021

A post-conference excursion will take place in the Valais on 11-12 June 2021.

During the 1½ day excursion, participants will visit the Long-term Irrigation Experiment, located in the nature reserve of the Pfyn Forest and a heavily drought affected inner-alpine Pine forest at the ICP Forests Level II plot Visp.

On the second day, the excursion will lead to Riederalp, located at 1’925 m a.s.l. and in the center of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch. We will visit the Nature Reserve Center Villa Cassel, enjoy the splendid view on the Aletsch Glacier and hike through one of the oldest high alpine stone pine forests, the Aletsch Forest.
